Congratulations to Emma Alexander who has just been awarded an NIHR Doctoral Training Fellowship. At PCC Research Incubator, we are proud to support her research journey. Emma has kindly agreed to share her experience and will be one of the tutors at the PCC Research Fellowship Writing Retreat in November 2025.

Congratulation to Dr Samiran Ray & Dr Emma  Shkurka for being awarded a Project Grant for £41,081 by the Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) Charitable Foundation for ” Augmenting clinical decision making in critical illness – Airway clearance (AID-CLEAR)”
Dr Samiran Ray had presented the  proposal at our first PPIE meeting in July 2025, receiving valuable PPIE feedback and encouragement. We are very proud  to have  supported this interesting research proposal.

Since summer 2025, the  PCC Research PPIE group has grown  in size and now counts 38 PPIE members with lived experience of Paediatric Critical Care. With PPIE members support the PCC Research Incubator has already supported 9 Researchers in 3 separate PPIE sessions.  Feedback on research proposals has been incredibly valuable to researchers, so a huge thank you to our PPIE members.

We are  still seeking volunteers for this online-only,  national  patient & public involvement and engagement (PPIE) group for PCC Research If you are over 18, with lived experience of PCC/PICU, we would love  if you could join the PCC Research PPIE group .  More information on the group  remit and how it  operates can be found here. A   link to the PPIE  Poster may also be found  below.
